Neighbors first
Before any program or plan, there's a person with a name and a need. Every decision we make starts there.
We're a family who felt called to show up for our community, even before we knew how. So we started small: sorting clothes for our unhoused neighbors.
That simple act grew into something bigger than we imagined, and Say Hello Neighbor was born.
We are a family-founded nonprofit built on one belief: neighbors taking care of neighbors can transform a community from the inside out.
When neighbors show up for each other, communities get stronger from the inside out. Three beliefs shape how we do that.
Before any program or plan, there's a person with a name and a need. Every decision we make starts there.
Presence matters. We volunteer alongside the communities we serve, because real understanding only comes from being in the room.
Problem-solving is a group activity. Everyone invested is invited to speak, and we decide together how to move forward. The best answers come from the people closest to the work.
Say Hello Neighbor is built by people who've spent careers solving hard problems, and who decided that the most important place to apply that experience was right here with our neighbors.
Shawn leads technology and product. He builds the software that powers our programs and works directly with partners to scope solutions that fit, whether that's an existing tool, a custom application, or something in between.
Kurt brings a Doctor of Nursing background to the team and helps shape how we show up for neighbors who need care. He'll lead the clinical side of our Street Clinic program, grounding the work in real patient experience.
